Unfortunately, for many reasons, school districts do not always provide the programs or services that your child needs to be successful. Your child with special needs is entitled to a “free appropriate public education” which means your school district must meet your child’s needs in the most appropriate setting, either in a public or private school placement.
Many disputes can be resolved without a hearing or trial. Recognizing the importance of maintaining a working relationship between parents and schools and of avoiding unnecessary litigation, our firm will always try to resolve disputes by negotiating voluntary agreements and effective solutions to meet your child’s needs. When litigation is needed, however, we will diligently represent parents and children before school districts and the Office of Administrative Law.
“Working with Linda has helped our family tremendously. It can be difficult as a parent to navigate a system that you don’t know or fully understand, learning as you go. From the first time Linda and I spoke I felt she was truly listening, understood what support our family needed and knew exactly how to help us. Linda is kind, respectful, professional, and tough where it is warranted. Her knowledge in her field is invaluable. She is hands down who you want advocating on your behalf.”
